Mrs. Wagners Chocolate Cake

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl and make a "well" (indentation) in the center.
  • 2 pour the oil and hot water into the dry ingredients and mix to incorporate.
  • 3 mix milk & eggs together in a separate bowl, then combine with the other ingredients.
  • 4 note: the cake batter is more liquid than the batter from a box mix.
  • 5 pour batter into a greased & floured cake pan (oblong, or two round pans) and bake 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
