Gingerbread

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup light molasses
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup boiling water (do not put in the bowl yet)

Recipe

  • 1 slowly add the contents of the small bowl, alternating with 1/2 cup boiling water.
