Howard's Cake (chocolate Cake)

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup cocoa
• 1 cup water, cold
• 2 cups sugar
• 2/3 cup shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 cup water, boiling

Recipe

• 1 dissolve cocoa in cold water to make a paste.
• 2 combine cocoa paste with the sugar shortening eggs and vanilla and mix well.
• 3 sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. fold into first mixture.
• 4 dissolve soda in boiling water and add to the batter. it will be thin.
• 5 pour into two greased 8-inch cake pans and bake at 300f for an hour.
• 6 frost with your favorite frosting.
