French Toast

Ingredients
- 8 slices french bread (sliced to 1/2-inch)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (or to make it extra fancy, grand marnier)
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- powdered sugar
Recipe
- 1 arrange bread in glass baking dishes in a single layer.
- 2 in a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla, milk, salt and oj.
- 3 pour over bread.
- 4 gently turn the bread to coat both sides of bread with liquid.
- 5 cover and refrigerate overnight.
- 6 in hot butter in skillet, sauté bread until golden brown, about 4 minutes each side.
- 7 sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
