Gooey Almond Butter Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (18 1/4 ounce) yellow cake mix
  • 8 tablespoons butter (1 stick)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup almonds, halved
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract, pure
  • 8 tablespoons butter (1 stick)
  • 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Recipe

  • 1 preheat to 350°f.
  • 2 crust:.
  • 3 mix in a large bowl cake mix, melted butter, egg, and almonds.
  • 4 blend with mixer on low speed for 2 minutes.
  • 5 the batter should form a ball.
  • 6 place batter into an ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. evenly over the bottom.
  • 7 set the pan aside.
  • 8 filling:.
  • 9 mix cream cheese until fluffy.
  • 10 add the eggs, almond extract, and melted butter and beat on medium speed for 1 minute.
  • 11 add the powered sugar.
  • 12 beat on medium speed until the sugar is well blended in about 1 minute.
  • 13 pour the filling onto the crust and spread so that the filling covers the entire surface and reaches the sides of the pan.
  • 14 place in oven.
  • 15 bake the cake for 45 minutes or until brown.
  • 16 the cake will not look done it's supposed to look that way.
  • 17 remove the pan from the oven and place on wire rack to cool, then cut into squares and serve.
