Gooey Almond Butter Cake

Ingredients

- 1 (18 1/4 ounce) yellow cake mix
- 8 tablespoons butter (1 stick)
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup almonds, halved
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract, pure

- 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
Recipe
- 1 preheat to 350°f.
- 2 crust:.
- 3 mix in a large bowl cake mix, melted butter, egg, and almonds.
- 4 blend with mixer on low speed for 2 minutes.
- 5 the batter should form a ball.
- 6 place batter into an ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. evenly over the bottom.
- 7 set the pan aside.
- 8 filling:.
- 9 mix cream cheese until fluffy.
- 10 add the eggs, almond extract, and melted butter and beat on medium speed for 1 minute.
- 11 add the powered sugar.
- 12 beat on medium speed until the sugar is well blended in about 1 minute.
- 13 pour the filling onto the crust and spread so that the filling covers the entire surface and reaches the sides of the pan.
- 14 place in oven.
- 15 bake the cake for 45 minutes or until brown.
- 16 the cake will not look done it's supposed to look that way.
- 17 remove the pan from the oven and place on wire rack to cool, then cut into squares and serve.
