Madelines

Total Time: 18 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 125 g butter
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup plain baking flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 2 add eggs one at a time, beating well after each additiong.
  • 3 stir in vanilla.
  • 4 sift flour and baking powder. fold into creamed mixture.
  • 5 add milk to give a soft dropping consistency.
  • 6 half fill 12 small grease moulds with mixture.
  • 7 bake at 200c (400f) for 8 minutes or until cakes spring back lightly when touched.
  • 8 leave in tin for 5 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack. (if they last that long).
  • 9 eat on it's own, or with jam and/or cream.
