Healthy Whole Wheat Bread

Total Time: 3 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm reconstituted powdered milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey or 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 cups flour

Recipe

  • 1 mix together milk, oil, honey, or brown sugar, salt, yeast, and half of each flour in an electric mixer bowl.
  • 2 beat with mixer for 2 minutes.
  • 3 add remaining flour and mix well.
  • 4 place dough in well greased bread or cake pan that will fit in slow cooker.
  • 5 cover with greased foil. let stand for 5 minutes, and place in slow cooker.
  • 6 cover cooker, and bake on high for 2 1/2 - 3 hours.
  • 7 remove pan and uncover.
  • 8 let stand for 5 minutes, serve warm.
