Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Recipe
- 1 combine the flour, spices, and the baking soda in one bowl. set aside.
- 2 cream butter and sugar. stir in egg. add molasses and buttermilk/water. mix the dry ingredients into the wet until just smooth.
- 3 bake at 350º f for 45 minutes if you use an 8-inch loaf pan or for 25 minutes if you use an 8x8 square pan.
