Lime Chocolate Cake

- 3 eggs
- 250 ml sugar
- 100 ml all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 75 ml cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 250 g quark
- 1 lime, zest of
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 200°c.
- 2 grease and flour a 22 - 24 cm round cake pan (with a removable bottom).
- 3 beat eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until thick and cream-coloured.
- 4 combine flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, vanilla sugar and salt; add to the egg and sugar mixture, mixing carefully.
- 5 add quark and lime zest, stir to combine.
- 6 pour batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes (depending on how soft you want the cake to be).
- 7 let the cake cool before removing it from the pan.
- 8 dust the cake with powdered sugar, decorate with thin lime slices and serve with whipped cream.
